Empowering the Next Generation of Land Stewards

The Tebughna Youth Conservation Squad (TYCS) provides Tyonek youth with paid summer employment, mentorship, and practical training in conservation science, hydrology, forestry, and traditional ecological knowledge.

Program Highlights

  • Paid Internships: Offering Tebughna youth valuable job experience conducting real field science alongside natural resource professionals.
  • School Hydroponics: Integrating agricultural STEM education into the Tebughna School curriculum.
  • Community Stewardship: Youth participate directly in fish monitoring, invasive plant removal, and farm harvests.
